While for many years it was extremely challenging to find surfboards in Goa, fortunately times have changed and there are now a few options.
For those who have a basic knowledge of surfing we have boards available for rent at an hourly or daily rate.
Decathlon.in now offers new surf boards, SUP boards, rash vests, and all manner of sports equipment in store and online, providing delivery to almost anywhere in the country.

While second hand boards are out there, in our experience they are not easy to come by.

We will mention here that bringing your own surfboard to India is also possible. Domestic airlines charge a very reasonable board fee as “oversized luggage” and generally take pretty good care of them. Traveling by train is possible with a short to mid length board, and while it was a little more of a challenge we have even managed to get a few 9ft+ boards on board. Taxi drivers are usually quite amenable to having a surfboard tied to the top of their vehicles, but you might need to be a bit more persuasive to get the same response from a tuk tuk driver.

These boards are between 6-9 feet, and they are excellent all-around surf boards ideal for beginners to intermediates and can be used in versatile conditions. Often thought of as great boards for surfing in Goa.

Boards under 6 feet that are best for advanced and performance surfing. There are days where short boards work well here, but generally won’t be your first choice

Unlike the traditional surf board, you ride these laying down on your stomach and they are best for accessible, fun, and versatile wave riding. This one requires no training to get started with and is ideal for casual beachgoers, kids, and adrenaline junkies alike!
